We love it when you link to us and help spread the word about our work for saving parrots. You don't need permission, and you are more than welcome to link to our main site or any of the pages you find there.

Since much of the content on our site is copyrighted, please provide a link only. If you wish to repurpose the content in any way, please contact us to request permission.

Start by submitting an Event Application and one of our representatives will get in touch. They will send you the information along with any additional requested materials. Check out our fundraising ideas to see what might be best for you.

The World Parrot Trust needs to approve each potential partner, organization or new event before agreeing to a relationship to ensure it adheres to our guidelines. 

As the event organizer, you will need to perform all actions necessary for the successful completion of the event and assume full obligation and responsibility for the payment of all expenses in connection therewith, without regard to the amount of funds collected at the event. The World Parrot Trust assumes no responsibility for expenses related to this event.

The event organizer agrees also needs to comply with all necessary local or government regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, purchasing insurance, registering with the appropriate agencies, following any rules of disclosure currently required by the governing bodies and acquiring required licenses or permits.

The WPT assumes no responsibility for expenses related to this event. The World Parrot Trust will only accept the net proceeds of a third-party event. All third-party event expenses are the responsibility of the third-party event organizer and must be paid before net proceeds are given to the WPT. 

We may attend clubs, meetings and regional conferences when possible. We have very limited staff resources and must prioritize which events staff are able to attend. We will consider requests to attend events on a case-by-case basis.

Please contact us and let us know the details of your event and whether you will be fundraising or raising awareness.

If you need something official, please contact us with a little background about your fundraiser, and we will issue you an Authority to Fundraise in the form of a letter.

The WPT does have some educational and other materials available to organizers to utilize during their events. Requests for materials will be reviewed and considered after submitting your event application. 

You will need to check the local laws and regulations for your area as they relate to fundraising activities. Some considerations to keep in mind:

• Do not collect money door-to-door
• If your event takes place on private property, you must obtain permission from the owner or manager.
• Many fundraising activities that involve collecting money or selling goods in a public place require that you seek permission and a license from your local authority.
• Non-cash small raffles and/or gaming venues are fine as long as they are not part of a larger event. Other larger or monetary raffles may be unlawful without registration with your local authorities, so you need to check with your local regulations.

If a donation check has been written out to you personally, you may endorse the back of the check and mail it to the World Parrot Trust. Please include on the memo or a small note, what fundraiser or campaign the check should be credited towards.

It is not a good idea to send a cash donation in the mail. We recommend depositing the cash into your checking account and mailing a personal check from your account. Please include on the memo or a small note, what fundraiser or campaign the check should be credited towards
